Bayern Munich are reportedly ready to make a big money offer to Ajax defender Jan Vertonghen.
The Belgium international says he is happy to stay at the Dutch club until the end of the football year, and has a contract with Ajax till 2013.
This has not stopped Bayern, and other big clubs in Europe including Manchester United, Arsenal, and also Inter Milan from expressing interest in the 24-year-old
Jan Vertonghen joined Ajax at the age of 16 and apart from a short loan spell he has remained with the club, being made team captain this season. The young Belgium defender has been likened to the German legend Franz Beckenbauer due to his elegant playing style.
Tottenham also are said to be looking at him, but do not right Arsenal off as he and Thomas Vermaelen are great friends. So if Bayern cannot temp him we could see a North London bidding war for the £10m rated player.
